LOR Project Leader, Ian Russell had this to say:
“The project at Cornwall Terrace was a tremendous challenge for us all working within the confines of a Grade 1 listed building. The team at SJ Eastern offered solutions to problems, behaved in a safe and professional way and were key in the success of the project by involving themselves, at my request, in additional scope, and completing that work within very tight and demanding time frame. Thank you.”
Description
6 Ambassadorial Residencies and 6 Lateral apartments on the Crown Estate with a gross development value of £350m completed September 2010. A magnificent terrace of Grade 1 listed Nash buildings overlooking Regents Park which is one of the most exclusive and desirable address in London.
SJE have restored all the structural floors, roofs and window linings/mouldings including bringing them up to the client's stringent acoustic requirements. We completed on programme and carried out the bespoke chevron detailed solid oak flooring to the old ballroom in building 21.
This project has posed a number of logistical and health and safety challenges for our company including complying with the strict Regents Park regulations and Grade 1 listed building compliances and refurbishing a listed building safely. We have used a deck system that enables us to strip a complete 300m2 floor area in one go and work safely whilst allowing a full structural propping system from below.
