Latest Covid-19 Statement

Like many businesses in the UK, here at SJE Carpentry & Joinery and SJE Fireproofing we have been closely monitoring the outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid-19) throughout the pandemic and UK lockdown. SJE have been closely monitoring information provided from the UK Government, Public Health England (PHE) and relevant professional bodies associated to the Construction Industry, such as BuildUK and the Construction Leadership Council (CLC). SJE will continue to monitor external advice and guidance from the above listed sources throughout the easing of the UK lockdown. Until the UK Government declare there is no longer a risk of the virus on human health or the virus is controlled to a tolerable level.

Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of the workforce has always been and will remain paramount at SJE. All four of our current live project construction sites have returned to work and are operating under strict Covid-19 protocols. All SJE sites are adhering to the latest CLC, Standard Operating Procedure in conjunction with the Main Contractors Covid-19 site arrangements.

SJE are in regular contact with our supply chain to ensure agreed materials and resources required for our current and future project’s, where possible are secured here in the UK. So as not to jeopardise programme and lead times. We are continuing to complete the design and participate on virtual online meetings with our supply chain.

Following recent UK Government advice. It remains, that if you can work from home then you should still continue to do so. With this in mind, all of our head office staff members are working from home and are contactable on their mobile phones. Line managers are in regularly contact with staff members via Microsoft Teams to ensure as a business we stay connected, focusing on business goals and maintaining a positive outlook throughout the pandemic.

However, we have realised that from time to time, staff members would like to attend the office. Our office remains open, which is limited to four members of staff to ensure social distancing can be maintained. Unfortunately, we cannot welcome visitors to the office at this time. We can confirm our head office is now Covid-19 secure following UK Government advise published on 11th May 2020. As a business we have carried out a Covid-19 Risk Assessment and broadcasted the findings to all SJE staff members, with emphasis on the UK Governments ‘Five Steps to Safer Working Together’ strategy.

We are working effortlessly to be as flexible and responsive for our Clients during this unprecedented time. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will make any additional changes to our working practices, as necessary.
